WEBINAR “HYDROGEN MOBILITY – PRESENT AND FUTURE”

On May 27, 2020, the University of Ruse organized a webinar “Hydrogen Mobility – Present and Future”, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science, Bulgarian academy of sciences and Ruse Municipality, under the national research program ” Low carbon energy for transport and domestic use – EPLUS.”

The event was officially opened by the Rector of the University of Ruse, Corresponding Member Prof. Hristo Beloev.

Greetings to the forum were made by Karina Angelieva – Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Prof. Ivan Dimov and Prof. Kostadin Kostadinov, advisors to the Minister of Education and Science. The successful implementation of the National Science Program is due to the core of about 200 scientists working on the program, said Art. cor. Prof. Konstantin Hadjiivanov, Vice-president of BAS and coordinator of the EPLUS program.

The moderator of the webinar was Prof. Velizara Pencheva, team leader of the University of Ruse.

Prof. Daria Vladikova presented the National Research Program and the work on its component 2. She also announced that, with the participation of the Academy and the University of Ruse, two projects have been prepared by the Municipality of Sofia and the Municipality of Ruse, which have been approved. Participants in EPLUS from the University of Ruse presented trends in the development of mobility, as well as the work with teams of students and PhD students to develop a prototype of a city car powered by fuel cells.

A discussion took place at the end of the event. It was attended by representatives of the institutes of the Academy, professors, PhD students, students, representatives of organizations and companies.

At the end of the discussion, Deputy Minister Angelieva stressed once again the importance of the national scientific program “Low Carbon Energy for Transport and Domestic Use” for the development of scientific capacity of the country in the field of low carbon energy and hydrogen mobility.
